The service connects the upper area of ​​the Torre Baró neighborhood with the lower area, where most of the facilities are located , such as health centers or schools, and connections to the metro and bus network .

Of the 22,800 passengers who have used the service during the first half year – 150 passengers on average on weekdays – most use it first thing in the morning and move from the beginning to the end of the route or vice versa. In total, 530 users have been registered.

When the pilot test ends, in 2020, the definitive implementation and expansion to other mountain neighborhoods of the city that have difficulties in accessing public transport will be studied .

How does the on-demand bus work?

The bus operates from Monday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on holidays.

Users, who have to register in advance, have to request the stop and time they want the bus service through the El Meu Bus application or by phone, by calling 900 927 575. In addition, they have to indicate the number of passengers who will use the service, with a maximum of five people.

The Torre Baró on-demand bus, in the Nou Barris district , is part of the Zona Nord Neighborhood Plan to improve public transport in the neighborhood.
